Reporting to a Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the child care program in accordance with the New York State Office of Children (OCFS) and Family Services licensing regulations, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards, and applicable health, fire, and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree including, or in addition to, 12 credit hours in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field; at least 3 years’ experience as a program administrator in a childcare program; demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities, fiscal management, strong writing skills, and computer literacy. Demonstrated experience working successfully in a diverse setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or graduate degree in early childhood education with at least 3 yrs. experience as an administrator in a NAEYC accredited program during which accreditation has consistently been maintained. Grant writing experience.

The full-time teacher, in conjunction with his/her co-teacher, shall implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans for his/her assigned classroom. Teachers will work together with the Director and other staff to foster an atmosphere of goodwill, open communication, and teamwork. The teacher is responsible for knowing and following OCFS regulations and NAEYC accreditation criteria.
The primary responsibility of each member of the Center staff is the safety and well-being of the children. It is therefore the obligation of each staff member to report to the supervisor and/or Director any action or behavior by any person which might be detrimental to a child or group of children within the Center.
This position is full-time and includes health insurance benefits, retirement benefits and paid time off. Salary commensurates with education and experience.
